As a Global Data Governance Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of implementing data governance activities that protect our valuable data assets. Your expertise will ensure AI-ready data, driving the delivery of governed and trusted data products. Accountabilities

  • Support the governance of ontologies and controlled vocabulary, ensuring standards and controls are in place.

  • Implement the AI-ready Data Framework, building ontologies, controlled vocabularies, and defining taxonomies.

  • Provide leadership in FAIR principles, making data interoperable across Global Operations and the Enterprise.

  • Design, implement, and catalogue data standards metrics to monitor progress against the Data Governance Framework.

  • Understand and define appropriate data structures and technologies based on business use cases.

  • Contribute to defining cataloguing standards for Global Operations, supporting training and education in cataloguing activities.

  • Collaborate with experts to define Critical and Key Data Elements with standards and data quality metrics.

  • Contribute to the development of a Data Strategy, including roles and responsibilities for effective data governance.

  • Work closely with data product governance to ensure data products are built on trusted, AI-enabling data.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, data or technology field or equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated understanding of building ontologies and creating controlled vocabulary as well as the use of taxonomies.

  • Experience in use of data modelling technologies.

  • Proven experience of Data Governance tools such as MDG, RDM and MDM, Collibra (data cataloguing technology), Data Quality tooling.

  • Demonstrated experience and subject matter expertise within the data fields such as data governance and data management.

  • Experience of AI enabled technology delivering good information management.

  • Knowledge and experience with regulated and/or legal environment and requirements (e.g., GxP, data privacy and security).

  • Demonstrable communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others.

  • Proven documentation skills, creating standard operating procedures and training material.

  • Strong consulting skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience in life sciences and healthcare.

  • Data Governance and Data Management education and certifications.

  • Experience of Business/IT partnering for the implementation of Data Governance-related solutions.

  • Applied data management and data science skills, including experience with related tools.

  • Proven track record of external networking to include publishing relevant data governance and policy topics in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other scientific proceedings.

  • Experience of inputting into strategy.

  • Robust working experience in international and intercultural settings.
